Programmes that understand the Indian body and lifestyle

Every plan is set by your doctor around your reports, your family’s food and your day.

Sunita, 47, Lucknow

“My father has diabetes. My last reports say I’m heading the same way, and I’d like to get ahead of it.”

Where she is

  • HbA1c 6.2 and a fatty liver on her last reports
  • Cooks for a family of five who all eat together
  • Told to “just walk more” for ten years

What her doctor recommends

Start, gently

Sunita’s reports show exactly the kind of risk that weight loss can turn around. Her B12 and thyroid are checked first, because she’s been on metformin for a while.

Her plan

  • The family meal stays the same. Her plate gets more dal and sabzi, and one roti fewer
  • A ten-minute walk after dinner with her husband, and strength work at home twice a week
  • Her HbA1c and liver rechecked at three months, so she can see the change for herself

Who’s with her: Her doctor reviews her every month, and she can message her care coordinator any day on WhatsApp.

You won't do this alone

Common worries about GLP-1, and how we handle them.

“Will I be judged, or rushed?”

A doctor who listens first

A proper video consultation. Your history, your reports and your goals, and an honest answer, even if that answer is "not yet".

My BMI is only 26. Will a doctor take me seriously?

Yes. Indian doctors consider treatment from a BMI of 25, or 23 with conditions like prediabetes, PCOS or fatty liver. If medicine isn't right for you yet, the doctor will say so and tell you what would help instead.

What does the doctor check before prescribing?

Pancreatitis or gallstones in the past, thyroid cancer in your family, pregnancy plans, and medicines like insulin that may need adjusting. Plus recent reports: HbA1c, liver, kidney, thyroid, B12 and vitamin D.

“Is this the right medicine for me?”

The right medicine, at your dose

Your doctor chooses the medicine and dose for your body and budget, and increases it only when you're ready. It reaches you cold, with the batch on the invoice.

Semaglutide or tirzepatide: which is right for me?

Both reduce appetite. Tirzepatide acts on two hormones and, on average, led to more weight loss in trials, but costs more. A medicine you can afford to continue works better than one you stop in month three, so your doctor weighs your goals, budget and how you handle side effects.

Why does my dose go up slowly?

Starting low lets your gut adjust and keeps nausea down. Your doctor steps up only when you're coping well, and if a lower dose is working, you can stay there and pay less.

“Not another diet chart.”

Food that fits your kitchen

A dietitian works with dal, roti and whatever your family already cooks. Vegetarian and Jain plans, without paneer every day.

I'll barely be hungry. What should I actually eat?

Protein first, then vegetables, then roti or rice if you still want it. Small meals, eaten slowly. Don't skip meals entirely, or you'll feel weak and lose muscle.

How do I get enough protein as a vegetarian?

Spread it through the day: a katori of dal, a bowl of curd, a piece of paneer or a handful of roasted chana at each meal. Your dietitian sets a target for your weight and checks it with you.

“What if I feel sick at 10 pm?”

Someone to message, any day

Your care team is on WhatsApp in English or Hindi. Anything medical goes straight to your doctor.

I feel nauseous after a dose increase. Is that normal?

Mild nausea for a few days after an increase is common. Smaller meals and less fried food help. Severe stomach pain, or not keeping fluids down, is not normal: message us and see a doctor straight away.

I haven't lost weight in three weeks. Is it working?

Stalls are common, so we look at your waist, appetite and food together, and your doctor decides if the dose should change. Never double a dose on your own.

Questions

How is Amyra different from just getting a prescription?

With Amyra, a doctor reviews you every month and decides each dose. Your medicine is delivered cold, a dietitian plans your meals around Indian food, and our team is on WhatsApp between visits. We also plan how you step down when the time comes.

Who is GLP-1 right for, and who shouldn't take it?

It's usually considered from a BMI of 25, or 23 with conditions like prediabetes, PCOS or fatty liver. It isn't for people who are pregnant or trying to conceive, have type 1 diabetes, or have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2. Past pancreatitis needs a careful discussion. Your doctor decides with you.

What will it cost each month?

₹699 for the programme, plus your medicine, which depends on the medicine and dose your doctor prescribes. You see the full monthly cost at every dose before you start. Blood tests are paid separately at the lab's price.

Which medicines do you offer, and how do I know they're genuine?

Semaglutide and tirzepatide, including our own. Every order is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy against your prescription, delivered cold, with the manufacturer, batch and expiry on your invoice.

I'm already on GLP-1 elsewhere. Can I move to Amyra?

Yes. Share your prescription and recent reports. Our doctor reviews your dose and how you've responded before anything changes.

Do I need blood tests before starting?

Yes. Usually HbA1c, lipids, liver, kidney, thyroid, B12 and vitamin D. If you've had recent reports, send them and we won't repeat what you don't need.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any month. If you want to stop the medicine, we'll help you step down safely rather than stopping suddenly.

Will my family or office know?

Only if you tell them. Support is on WhatsApp, calls happen only if you ask, and deliveries come in plain packaging.
